“I dip my pen in the blackest ink, because I’m not afraid of falling into my inkpot.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

When you are little you paddle through life, through the good, the bad, the menacing, the amazing.  At that young age, you are first tempted to get out of the boat and be in the center of all of it.  Whether you are 8 in the ice cream parlor, 14 with your first kiss, 24 chasing your dream job or 56 and itching for more.  Life is filled with challenges, bumps & scrapes, heartache, disappointment  and regret.  Even so, that is only a portion of life and if we resist all those temptations what are we missing?  A hell of a lot.
